Connect with ‘like-minded’ bloggers, Facebook, Linked In, YouTube and other social media channels to build community.
Tasks may include updating/managing social media sites, managing online content and RSS feeds, bloggers/writers, etc. This is an opportunity to be a part of a growing movement that aims to raise awareness, educate and take direct action. We are about solutions to the growing problem of plastic pollution in our oceans.
Duration: minimum 6 months
Time commitment: minimum of 4 hours a week
Must Have:
Knowledge of social media networks
Organizational and self-management skills
Open to direction and taking feedback
Computer skills as described above
Own computer, phone
Ability to work well with a team of diverse people
Healthy communication skills
Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
2. Assistant to the Executive Director
The Environmental Cleanup Coalition (ECC) seeks an energetic and creative individual with a love for the ocean and who is looking for the opportunity to truly make a difference and be a part of the team for positive transformation. Assists E.D. in the daily tasks of running the ECC. This would include a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to the following.
Tasks may include:
•   Email correspondence
•   Newsletter outreach
•   Database management
•   Field phone calls
•   Research assistance and footwork
Duration: minimum 6 months commitment
Time commitment: minimum of 10 hours a week
Must Have:
Professional presence
Good communication skills
Writing and editing skills
Basic computer technical support
Excellent organizational skills
Office management skills
Research experience
Be based in Santa Cruz or nearby.
